Proud to offer a comprehensive range of services
W-L Molding is proud to offer a comprehensive range of services to our customers, brought to you by a full team of employees who care about quality and excellence. We value our customers, and will therefore go “above and beyond” to ensure their complete satisfaction.
We are a specialty, custom injection molder of engineered thermoplastic resins as well as polyethylene, polypropylene, and polystyrene; and our Engineering Department is the largest non-manufacturing department in the corporation. Operationally, our four profit centers are Micro-Matic, Big Shots, I.M.S (Insert Molding Specialties) and The Second Team.
Micro-Matic is our very small part molding area, handling production capabilities on nine molding presses ranging in size from 17 ton to 38 ton. Seldom do molders implement the very important requirement of matching the shot size of the molded part with the compatibility of the molding press shot size in lower size molding machines – we believe this is imperative for producing great parts. We construct our molds in conventional, MUD inserts, and our own Uni-Sert type mold cavities (1” to 4” diameter inserts).
Big Shots is our small and medium size part operation, specializing in mid to high volume molded parts. Big Shots has thirteen machines, ranging in size from 85 ton to 500 ton. Some of the features of this area are: insert and standard plastic injection molds can be run; parts in custom colors can be produced; and we have the capability to produce parts in thermoplastic and thermoset materials.
I.M.S. (Insert Molding Specialties) is our insert/over molding center where we over-mold thermoplastic material over other plastics and various metal forms. This work is done in vertical style machines with two- and three-piece shuttle and conventional molds.
The Second Team is where we do all our secondary work; hot stamping, pad printing, ultra-sonic welding, heat staking, and a large amount of precision machining such as globe valve shut-off balls.
Additionally, one of our specialty services is our ability to convert metal parts to plastics. It is extremely rare for a custom injection molder to offer this service to their customers – we do – and we do it well. Our Engineering and Quality teams are experts at what they do, thus giving us the capability to make this conversion for our customers. A conversion from metal to plastic components enables our customers to save cost per component, thus increasing their profits.
Are we expecting a lot and are we demanding of ourselves? You bet! But over the course of our history, our acceptance of nothing less than perfection from ourselves has been highly beneficial to our customers. You, as a customer, demand exceptional quality, and we demand even higher standards than yours of ourselves as a company, its’ employees, and as individuals!
Our doors are always open
